What is Add-on Price?

This feature allows merchants to charge customers extra fees during customization by setting up an add-on price.

For example, when a buyer enters a piece of text, they may need to pay an additional $1.0 USD.

How to Configure Add-on Price

  1. Enable Add-on Price in the Component

At the bottom of the component where you want to apply the add-on price, find the Add-on price option and check it.

  1. Select an Add-on Product

Choose a product from the Product base in CustoMeow as the add-on product.

  1. Create an Add-on Product (if none exists in Product base)

If there is no suitable add-on product, you can create a new one.

  1. Create a Product in Product Base

  • Check Use as add-on product (only products with this option checked will appear in the add-on product list).

  • Set the product price and SKU (if the product has multiple variants, you can set different attributes and SKUs).

  1. Refresh and Select the Add-on Product

Return to the add-on product list in the customization feature, click Refresh, and select the desired add-on product.

  1. Select Product Variant

Choose the product variant for the add-on product.

  1. Confirm and Save

Confirm the add-on product and its price, then save.

  1. Preview Add-on Price

Preview the customer experience with the add-on price.

  1. Integrate the customization feature into your store.

How Customers Experience Add-on Price

  1. Enter Customization Content

When customers input content, the add-on price will be displayed.

  1. Add to Cart

When added to the cart, the main product and the add-on product will both be included for purchase.

Which Components Support Add-on Price?

  1. Input-based Components

Add-on price is triggered when customers enter specific content. Supported components include:

  • Text
  • Notes
  • Number
  • Datetime
  • Email
  • URL

  1. Option-based Components

Add-on price is triggered when customers select specific option values. Supported components include:

  • Radio
  • Checkbox
  • Image Swatch
  • Select Font
  • Select Menu
  • Color Swatch
  • Multi-Level Image Swatch
  • Dynamic Select

  1. Photo Upload Component

Customers pay an add-on price for uploading images. Currently, CustoMeow supports two add-on price modes for photo uploads:

  • Mode 1: Per Image Pricing

Each uploaded image triggers a fixed add-on price.

Total add-on price = Number of uploaded images ✖ Unit price.

Example: If each uploaded image costs $1, uploading 2 images costs $2.

  • Mode 2: Tiered Pricing Based on Quantity

The add-on price varies depending on the number of uploaded images, allowing for flexible tiered pricing.

Example:

  • 1 image = Free
  • 2 images = $1
  • 3 images = $2

If a user uploads 1 image, it’s free; 2 images cost $1; 3 images cost $2.

Notes for Configuring Add-on Price

  • Add-on products must be based on additional products in the store and will be added to the cart alongside the main product.
  • When integrating customization with add-on price, if the add-on product is missing in the store, it will be automatically distributed to the corresponding store.
  • To update add-on price, modify the product’s base information (price) and re-publish it to your store.
  • If you change the product’s variant structure in the store, and the system cannot find the matching variant during customization, the add-on price will be considered invalid (in this case, the add-on product will not be added to the cart).
